I do not believe you can do this without a hub. But 10mb hubs are less than $100. As an alternative you can direct cable connect on serial or parallel ports. Win 95 and NT support this. It's not that fast but may be all you need depending on what you want to do.

Yes, you just need a cable that swaps transmit and receive pairs. Any network supply house sells these for a few $$....

yes. all you need is a non-standard Ethernet cable that swaps XMT/RCV on one end. your local computer shop should be able to sell you one for under $10.
