BTW, someone who reads this thread but doesn't (usually?) post emailed me privately and reminded me that the newsletter I was thinking of was by I. F. Stone. They didn't say but that might have been the I. F. Stone Report. Anybody remember? Anyway, Brill, in putting his own name at risk in the title, is following first principles for integrity.

I think I. F. Stone died just a few years ago. Probably from dismay at seeing how the TV journalists, never really respected, have gone from empty-headed incompetence to enthusiastically rolling in scandal and corrupt use of sources. (Well, he was also maybe 90-ish :-)

While the major city papers have become the true heirs of 'Rosebud' Hearst.
