Naipaul and Theroux: Sir Vidia's Shadow, Not as sweet as Vidalia onions.
Take it on the chin and move on
Naipaul the mentor and Theroux the protege go their separate ways. Theroux writes an eulogistic obituary about Naipaul's first wife. Naipaul's second wife sends an abusive note to Theroux. Naipaul and Theroux meet on a London street accidentally. Verbal exchange. Naipaul tells Theroux " Take it on the chin and move on". Thus Sir Vidia's Shadow" was born in the mind of Theroux and is published now. Naipaul is known as Vidia. Theroux chronicles all the little and big shared incidents between them. Not all complimentary. See what happens, when two writers fall in and fall out. A book is born.
