I think that the bottom really is near and that companies are indicating limited visibility as a precaution. The industry is huge and dependent on keeping up with technology so it requires constant investment to be a player. Even if I got in a little early for the turn being in at or near the bottom might get me a turn back to $40 a share in a good rebound. my downside from here is very minimal in my opinion and I am willing to take that risk. After all where else can you look now to get positioned for strong appreciation late in 98 or early 99? I started accumulating BRKS, ATML, SVGI yesterday and will be dabbling in AMD and NSM this week as well. I think that these are good companies with good product and will appreciate substantially in the coming year. BRKS seems to be indicating that it still has a greater than $6 per share book value but I haven,t checked it in a week or so.
