Jbn,

Talking about TA, it was openly laughed at in the classroom of Sloan and Wharton. The professors are teasing those TA users all the way they can and call them big losers.

Well, maybe I will have to disagree with those guys a bit. But the bottom line is that in most cases TA is not a useful tool if you want to make serious $.

good luck,
larry!

Jbn3, have you noticed that for some time now, Dell's stock price moves up or down with the DOW. Further, it upside trading has been sloppy...for example, today its trading up between 1 and 2+ points. Even though the Dow is up 85, and the Naz up 33, Dell is up less than 2 points. Since you are a long time follower of Dell's stock, can you confirm what I said and why the stock fails to rally on days like today? (I have noticed, if the stock does rally, it usually happens at the end of the trading day. By a rally, I'm referring to a price movement of 4 to 5+ points.)

Thanks for the help.

But I ask you: where else are you currently as likely to at least
maintain your capital, with a strong likelihood of a significant increase in the next 6
weeks? I think that a major segment of the market realizes this. If you were a money manager with
umpteen $million to invest right now, where would you put it?

If I have to have a long stock position my favorite going forward is Safeway (which I do hold). More risky perhaps is beaten down tech stocks like National Semiconductor (another holding) which are trading at close to book and beginning to get analyst reccomendations. My remaining (US) position is Peapod which is highly volatile but much less market correlated than DELL (ie lower beta).
