Alomex, I'm sure you remember a couple incidences where I jumped on dear Phil when I didn't agree with his calculations. Jon beat me to it in this case. It is not realistic to project sales in a quarter by simply multiplying initial pre orders. First of all pre orders and unit shipment are not the same. What we need to know is how many Apple can crank out in Q4. In the short term, the demand side of the equation isn't as important. Supply is the limiting factor here.
Longer term demand is the key.

While we're on the subject, I've seen some people calculating iMac revenue by multiplying unit estimates by $1300. The actual average unit price Apple receives for each iMac is somewhere in the range of $1050-$1100. So one should use that figure instead.
