09:25 ET Applied Materials (AMAT) 32 7/8: DLJ says company will be in situation of uncertainty for next 2 to 4 qtrs. Cuts Oct. view from $0.07 to $0.02, lowers FY98 view from $1.20 to $1.10 (end Oct) and FY99 from $0.86 to $0.70 (down 19%). AMAT shares have rebounded in pre-market, now indicated 3/8 higher.
