Would be most interesting what Symbios results had been for the last 6 months. We know last year was $760M with low 40% gross margins. We if know last 6 months' results, that would definitely put a firmer value on the whole purchase. Hope we get those numbers in the conference call.

Clarification. Should read 450 MHz Xeon 4-way server chip rather than the Xeon chip since other 2-way servers are already shipping.

Sun supports the symbiosis scsi chip in
the new ultra line. In fact, the ultra's
will boot from scsi with symbiosis and not
the adaptec. The adaptec controller in
my ultra will not support booting until the
next firmware and driver version.

With regard to the low end PC market. The
NCR chip set supported in many PC bios
belongs to symbiosis. It is one of the
cheapest pci scsi controllers available.
