jhketc., MM means Market Maker, for example, Merril Lynch, DLJ, etc., and you better believe these investment houses can call eachother and plan strategies for running a stock any way they want. It's collusion, and very difficult to prove. It is illegal. There is no true bidding for shares in the NAZ , which means there is much more graft in the nasdaq market than on NYSE, where it is a live auction process. This I learned from an ex-broker who got caught in the middle of this stuff, and is no longer a broker. You simply have no idea how dirty it gets. Cricket
