The volume of August 7.5 call is very encouraging, so is Sep 7.5 call. looks like we finally will have some news in next 7 trading day. Thanks Vlad Jeff

Jeff, If you watch a level II screen lately the big money spread has been 1/4 to 3/8 of a point while the traders try to scalp their 1/16s or 1/8s inbetween. As I type it looks like First Boston along with Smith Barney are trying to keep the price below 5 3/4. They have been 2 major market makers who have been shorting Vivus since last January. Smith Barney has a large holding in a Fund so they probably enjoy playing the game and shorting their own position. I have a strong huntch that First Boston is trying to look like a seller on the ask but at the same time is accumulating on INCA or ISLD inside the BID. Since they have an analyst who continues to cover Vivus and maintains a hold recommendation, don't be surprise if they upgrade to a buy as soon as things start to play themselves out in the favor of Vivus. This is a perfect example of one of the manipulation methods seen on this stock.
