Jim,

1. They are not just looking at "prices just edging up ", they are
looking at the bottoming of semi. So they want to be in now for the
future action.

2. Large short position is the biggest thereat to shorts. Rev. doesn't
matter, liquidity matters more. So daily trading #s x ? days = short #s.
So it might be 9days for MU now.

3. Once short covers , price might drop a little bit and shorts short
more. Then price inches up a little more, shorts get panic. on and on.
That's called "momentum short stocks." I warned you guys
earlier that MU has history of being one once dram inch up.

later,

InSook

JIM,

RE:what dram price rally

Three months ago I bought 2 "4X64 3.3 VOLT SDRAM 10NS W/ EPROM UNBUFFERED" from this local shop spartantech.com for $25 a piece, today they are charging $38 a piece. That's a 52% increase at the retail level. Somewhere in the supply chain someone is charging more for something.

Just an anecdote and I don't own MU stock.
