I have subscribed to IW for 5 years and initially followed the international recommendations. I have had very good results with these. Banco Santander is up 274%. Novartis is up 254%. Glaxo is up 207%. Nestle up 160%. A lot of companies with smaller gains also. In fact for three plus years I had no losses on his international recommendations. I didn't get into any trouble on the international recommendations until the Asian meltdown. When that happened, I sold all my Hong Kong stocks immediately, but kept C P Pokphand and the Fletcher Companies of New Zealand. That was a mistake, because those have been disasters. I followed FFS down by buying more. (I still think it is a good company and will hold it, but I wish I had gotten out and could buy in at these prices. I have had much less success when I followed JD advice on US companies. I had mixed results. I made 200% on Comshare. I made a little on some others such as Countrywide. I lost on a number such as Service Mdse. In mid 1996, I sold all the US stocks and have kept only his international recommendations. Unfortunately, I recently fell off the wagon and bought Cendant on his recommendation. My experience is that JD is frequently early on his recommendations. I now research all his recommendations carefully before deciding to buy. I plan to watch them a while before jumping in. I have set up a portfolio of his recommendations that will signal me if they move into a buying range that I established. Overall, I have been satisfied and plan to continue to use his international recommendations.
