Joe: during the manufacturing process the litter is screened over a fine mesh screen to remove the fine particles that could make dust. What is left is pleasing to look at, uniform light wood color product that is generally of the same range of sizes of wood particles. That's construction lingo. In plain English, it looks great, smells great, and makes no dust. This is just my biased opinion from looking at samples.
