GM, I'm sure we're getting closer to recovery, but the prospect of a long wait with things perhaps getting worse isn't encouraging. It reminds me of the story of a ship that began to sink. One of the passengers ran to the captain in a panic, saying "Captain, the ship is sinking!" The captain replied, "Oh, I wouldn't worry, you know we're only about a mile from land." The passenger looked around and could see no land and asked, "A mile? But in what direction?" To which the captain answered, "Down."
