biz.yahoo.com Thursday August 13, 10:29 am Eastern Time VLSI to repurchase up to 2 mln shares SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug 13 (Reuters) - VLSI Technology Inc said Thursday it has begun purchasing shares of its common stock under a program approved by its board in 1996. The company said in a statement it plans to purchase up to 2 million shares under the program. Repurchased shares may be used for the company's employee stock option and stock purchase plans. At the end of June the company had about 47.3 million shares outstanding on a diluted basis.
