Princeton EO 90 --MacWorld - best 19" monitor
prgr.com

macworld.zdnet.com

I like how it was rated for text, particularly.

Cost is around $525.

In three weeks, they will be out with its replacement, the EO 900
which has a slightly more improved Hitachi CRT, and a streamlined
look.

If something goes wrong with the monitor in the first year,
they send another one to you overnight express and pay for
the old to be shipped back. 3 yr parts/warranty/crt.

This is a better monitor than the ADI 6P that I was looking at.
I'm still considering the 21" monitors above. I also decided
to only look at TCO '95 standard radiation control monitors-
warranty to my health.

Anyone have a preference? This 19" or the 21" refurbished?

S.W.

21 in monitors

I have used 21 in monitors at work for five years and at home for a month or so. The downside is weight, heat and space.

With several 21 in monitors you will notice the increased temperature in a room. (check your circuits vs total load)

The monitors are quite a bit more difficult to move around because of their weight. Most monitor arms will not support monitors greater than 17 in.

You need desk real estate to place the monitors.

Barring the above I would not hesitate recommending 21 in monitors. The approximate equivalent to a 17 in monitor at 800 X 600 is 1024 X 768. This works out to 480000 pixals for the 17 and 786432 pixals for the 21 in monitor. The 21 is aprox 60 % bigger. Three 17 in monitors equals 2 21 in monitors +/-.

The PT 813 is aperture grill ( has two faint lines) If the prices are the same choose between the PT813 and the P815.

I do not know much about the 29. We need to know the resolution capability. I believe it is lower than the above but that may not be significant for your application. I believe it is wide screen format. This may be advantageous for window placement. If we investigate we may find out that one 29 in monitor equals two 17 in monitors.
