Hi Mike:

Formus received a license from the FCC around
January to operate an experimental LMDS system
in Denver. They use LMDS equipment purchased
from LU (formerly the broadband wireless division
of HP). They were mentioned in the July 98
wireless issue of the Red Herring. I am not
exactly sure what kind of license the FCC
gave them, since Formus did not participate in
the LMDS auction. Their service focuses on
both voice and data.
