RT,

Wilson can not be blamed for everything. Hindsight is 20/20. Nobody on this board could have predicted that Viagra would have hurt domestic sales by 70%. Nobody could have predicted the stock would go under 9 5/8 when the company was buying back stock at an average of $14.00 to $15.00/share less than 7 months ago. The company believed that the stock's price was a bargain at those levels and certainly they would have waited if they knew that they could have been saving important cash by not buying back shares when everyone else thought that this was a good idea. Wilson has only one main task in front of him at present and that is to negotiate a favorable long term deal with a strong domestic partner. I think that at this point the man knows that he MUST come through for the sake of his company and his reputation. If he does not then I believe the board will fire him and find a new CEO. The man in charge of production IMO is doing a fine job. I do think that Wilson has made errors in predicting future events that would effect his company but I do not know if I could have been able to forecast the future any better. My main gripe has been the piss poor PR and IR the company has demonstrated--ultimately it is Wilson's job to make sure that these matters are taken care of. Hopefuly, NF has been able to drum up institutional support for Vivus and a few fund managers have been accumulating Vivus shares over the past few days. If I were a small cap fund manager, I would be loading the boat at any price below $7.00/share without worrying about any down side risk looking forward 3 months out. IMO the present stock price would imply that we have a company that has nothing to sell and is ready for Chapter 11. We know that this is hardly the case.
