I think you still don't quite get it. If the change in the CUSIP were, as Colleen claims, announced ages ago, then the shorts will already have covered. So nothing will happen. Assuming there is amount of short interest claimed, which I frankly doubt.

Note also: assuming that shorts have already (at these low prices, and with a relatively wide spread, low volume) covered, why has the price of the stock not gone up at least a little?
