The distribution of high grade drill intercepts (17 intercepts assaying greater than 0.5 oz gold/ton) along northwest and northeast trending structures, below the near surface, bulk tonnage Hollister deposit strongly suggests significant potential for a Ken Snyder-type high grade gold-silver system. A series of microprobe studies of Ivanhoe gold-silver intercepts by Dr. Larry Larson (former Dean of the Mackay School of Mines, University of Nevada) indicates many similarities to mineralization at the nearby Ken Snyder Mine. The Ken Snyder mine, which is now under construction, is expected to produce gold for less than US$80 per ounce which will make it one of the lowest cost gold producers in North America. This underground operation is designed to mine a total diluted mineable width of 3 to 5 feet with a reported grade of 1.04 oz gold/ton and 11.65 oz silver/ton in a mineable reserve of 2.17 million tons. Any one of the northwest or northeast trending structures currently being explored at Ivanhoe is large enough to host the currently published Ken Snyder Mine reserve. Further drilling to expand the Ivanhoe high grade gold-silver system is scheduled for September.
