Perhaps someone else can explain it better. It really isn't the best alternative out there today by itself since you're placing your orders in the MMs hands.

For me, it's an entry alternative in the broader EDT environment, when you need to execute and need the MM system. But I believe it will be going away soon due to the new proposed NASDAQ SOES/Selectnet entry replacement.
