KLIC had a conference call this morning. ASE had a surprise release of an order for 100 machines last week, which will all be shipped this quarter. KLIC had to hold off on some layoffs to meet the shipment request. The materials business is also showing some improvement, and customers seem more optimistic. They said they are still planning for a protracted downturn, but there have been some positive signs during the last few weeks. Scott Kulick did not say you should buy the stock right now, but he seemed to be implying that you should start considering it. Sounded much more bullish than he had been two weeks ago at the Robertson Stephens Semi Conference. Regards, Archer
