Not at all. Your choice of words seems to imply that to me however and to anyone that mentions faith.

As you said the forum is open. I have not referred to your thoughts as rubbish nor do I want to limit your discussion. You obviously do. For many, like myself the meaning of life is faith in God.

Wrong number counselor. (again).

As you can clearly see, you are posting and I am not stopping you, as for my words, I simply responded to your, no implied words at all.

Tremendous bitterness for one who says that he is happy but not an evil power.

Don't cry for me Argentina.

Once again counselor, wrong number, the mere response to posts addressed to me, giving you in return what I think (both my own thoughts and with the assistance of other brighter minds), about the subject no more no less.

Your suggestion of bitterness is nothing more than the typical use of moral guilt upon me, that I am in the wrong, and you are the calming dead pan face cool headed response to my opinions.

No bitterness whatsoever, and indeed in complete happiness.

Having said that, I can not ignore neither, (in my opinion),

1. the fallacies of what you and the church professes,
2. the fact that you attempt to push it on others,
3. the atrocities that I have read about, (which only now thanks to the improvement in the communication technology and indeed the improved education of the masses, (particularly in other third world countries), is the church beginning to acknowledge, that not only did they happen with the church knowledge and support. further, it is my opinion that in the near future successful valid claims of responsibility will be made against the church, by the injured parties, or their descendants.

4. what I have personally witnessed, (in a much lesser level of gravity), the effects of the indoctrination by the church upon masses of people that willfully have been kept under ignorance of the true facts, and exposure to different opinions

5. what I have personally received as attacks and insults upon my own person by the zealots with blind faith that absolutely refuse to even consider the remote possibility of different opinions and ways of life, that in spite of, in specific instances, if one removes the aspect of the belief in life after death and the existence of god, there are many parallels in the morality and ethics of my own and theirs.

Based in common honesty, common decency, and other specific values, there are not many differences.

However, by the simple fact that I happen not to believe in god, nor in the existence of life after one's death, nor in the validity of the writings of an old book that in fact it is easily proven (by reference as I do not claim to be an expert on such book), that many of the writings promote war, violence and many other less than decent activities.

Just for that I have been called (publicly), a drug addict (I do not even smoke the regular cigarettes), implied that I promote low life, (completely untrue, in fact I lead a life of far higher standards than those who have attacked me), I do not mean this to be derogatory, but the statistics support my claim, I bring it up in this forum to support my position, and indeed to point out the absurdity of those who attacked me. I simply was brought up under completely different set of standards, this while merely circumstantial, it is a sad fact that the sense of family (to name one example), is rapidly becoming a non-existent concept in this country. (and I wish I were wrong).

Now, I do not need some pontifical priest to tell me how to establish, maintain and nurture a family, in fact in the Catholic religion they are totally unqualified to give marital and family advise as they themselves are precluded from getting married, so how can they possibly know to give proper advise ??!!

6. the complete ignorance of my requests to be spared from the unwanted and unsolicited religious indoctrination towards myself, and others that are close to me, as if I was a complete idiot who does not know his head from his rear end.

Indeed, such attempt has been done repeatedly under absolutely illegal circumstances, given the current law, and the US Constitution. In spite of the fact that such circumstances, are known to these zealots... noooooo try, and try they must !

So no, I am not neither bitter nor angry, but certainly. I will express my disapproval, indeed disdain and lack of respect for an institution that it is about time that should receive some payback for all their evil deeds committed throughout the history of mankind

Your desire to carry and express of a message of love and caring does not need the use of the belief in god, nor hell as its threatening stick.

Your bible quotations are pointless, as I can assure you many of the recipients in all probability do not even understand the style and/or the language that it is written, quite conveniently as it makes it more confused, and mysterious.

Again, if your goal is to spread love, good ethics and morals, stop speaking in tongues, get out to where they really need you, and update both your speech and your philosophy, to one that it is more in tune with the twenty first century.

Stop all the pomp and circumstance that churches insist upon, look at the wedding of Charles and Diana... to what end was that all about ?? for a miserable divorce a few years later ? all that money and resources and effort wasted!

Give me a break !

The visit of the Pope to Cuba (and other Latin American countries), to what end ? How come these poor communities continue to support a stodgy church with decaying properties that need tremendous amounts of resources to maintain... can't you pray out in the open, do you absolutely need these damned palaces of the absurd ?

Once again, to what end ?

Do you know that the main Cathedral in Mexico City is literally sinking ? and they are spending untold millions just to keep it afloat, never mind that it represents a tremendous hazard to the people that go to it, in the event of an earth quake....

Boy all that stuff really makes a lot of sense, it is quite logic isn't it ??

By the way such Cathedral was built on top of Aztec ruins that wee the old temples, why ? just to show some Macho superiority that the Spanish god was more Supremo than the local deities, (they had several).... what a waste of human resources... and now they are trying to maintain a sixteenth century building that any day now will come crashing down... to what end ?

To pray to god so they all live happily and better ever after ? please, please.... all these peasants are even worse than they were before !!

And the Church?... oh thank you very much for asking most of the altars in these churches are made of hand carved wood covered with gold leafs, the labor of many peasants of the day, while the fat priests enjoyed their positions of power etc.....

Again..... you want to spread love and good will etc.... well again I will say it one more time, if you want respect from those who happen to not believe in your old methods and used songs and verses, and bed time old stories, you better start using more appropriate methods, in the mean time, I will speak my mind about what I think about the church, gods and demons, hell and the rest of your gibberish.

I do not pretend more than what I believe I am in this life, I was born, I live decently I hope, I pursue happiness to the best of my abilities, and one fine day I will die like the rest of us, that will be the end.

Hopefully to those who I care for I will give them a baton for them to carry on their own, based on their own reason, and I will attempt to share with them what I believe in, what I have learned in life, and I will pass it to them with the best intention for my and their success.

People judge us by our words and the bible says that God also judges us by our words. You claim to be happy, content, with your beliefs but that is not what you are portraying here. You are pouring out contempt and tremendous disdain for anyone expressing faith as the meaning of life and yet in the next breath you claim the forum is open.

Again, I do not believe in god therefore the first part of your comment has no meaning to me.

Yes, believe it or not I am quite happy, but as I told you I can not ignore the past events as explained. How you take and interpret my comments is your right, I can not do anything about it.
You and anyone else can express faith and anything you want, I will express what I believe, and if it is addressed to me (and I have time to respond), I will, obviously, based on my opinions, the above explanations may assist you in understanding my position, but I do not expect you or anyone to agree with me, that is your right.

Yes indeed, my own disagreement, should not deter you from expressing your thoughts.

However, once again, I will express what I think based on what I perceive, and if what I perceive leads me to believe someone is expressing beliefs that I see no consistency on, nothing can stop me, not even your attempt to place guilt on me.

p.s.

"We live in a land of abounding quackeries, and if we do not learn how to laugh we succumb to the melancholy disease which afflicts the race of viewers-with-alarm... In no other country known to me is life as safe and agreeable, taking one day with another, as it is in These States. Even in a great Depression few if any starve, and even in a great war the number who suffer by it is vastly surpassed by the number who fatten on it and enjoy it. Thus my view of my country is predominantly tolerant and amiable. I do not believe in democracy, but I am perfectly willing to admit that it provides the only really amusing form of government ever endured by mankind."

However..... the above is not the case in many other countries.... Am I happy ? Oh yes indeed I am, whatever you tell me gives me no worries!!

p.s.s. How about starting to tax churches, particularly based on their desire to influence policy, hmmmm I do believe that taxing churches in their income and property would be a windfall to all the American taxpayer of great positive consequences, yes, yes, let's tax the churches !!!! I am all for it.

You see, I am now even happier than when I started this post !!!

TAX THE CHURCHES TAX THE CHURCHES TAX THE CHURCHES TAX THE CHURCHES
