Sai: Why are you so interested in PNLK?? Let the committed long term investors discuss it.

Sometimes you can't trust the message if you can't trust the messenger.

I have talked with PNLK management and examined their situation. I choose to keep my shares and I'll sleep well at night. This company has taken longer than expected to launch a refined version of their web offering. Yet, when it comes out with a renewed marketing effort watch out.

At the moment PNLK is not one of my largest holdings. I choose to bet my big money on firms that have a proven track record like DELL and MSFT. Yet, I may increase my position in PNLK. IMO, this company has an exciting future ahead of it.

I'm LONG on PNLK for the LONG RUN.

Sai, That is good information which may help some of us to understand and see where you and others are coming from...seeing the three catagories you broke it down into I would like to respond..
1. Web site development mistakes...hind site tells us that the site was not 100% capable to do business to business transactions (that we know). But I also see positive things came from it which wouldn't have if not released at all. The capability was born to reach out to businesses across this internet capable world..This I know because I have seen posts from Import/exporters from Belgium, Hong Kong, France, Peurto Rico, Canada and here in America( am I missing any?).It also has given businesses that are aware of the PNLK site the opportunity to update their business information for free..And we also heard that one the first weekend it was released that PNLK received 100 corporate membership signups through the site, making it capable to bring revenues into the business. Not comparing PNLK to AOL, but AOL also released a less than perfect site in the early stages, with many complaints also..but in the end their strategy paid off handsomely. (I agree some mistakes yes, total washout,No).
2. Marketing mistakes..I can't comment on this until number of subscribers are released, how did you determine mistakes were made here?
3. Switching to 'Rare Medium' from 'Proxicom'...Although the stock price suffered, It showed to me Management is going to do what is necessary to keep their business growing..If Proxicom was overwhelmed by the project and Rare Medium was up to the tasks then It was a great move..Don't forget that Rare Medium works Primarily with Global 2000 clients..PNLK is a Global site, thus fitting in better with Rare Medium..Rare Medium also provides their clients with Internet business strategy consulting, Marketing, and needs analysis..which I never seen from Proxicom...
this is all IMHO of course, time will tell what unfolds in the future, I can't predict any stock prices especially not day to day, because unforseen events always move the markets sharply...
peace

"- Swithching to 'Rare Medium' from 'Proxicomm' during the middle of Phase II development certainly hurt :
(a) Stock price
(b) Phase II release schedule
(b) Vision of Management
(c) Credibility of Management"

With regard to the above four issues, you can only say that (a) and (c) are true. The proof is right there in your face. You cannot say the other two (i.e. the two b's [?]") are true for the following reasons: You can't read the minds of the management so you do not know how this impacted their vision; I don't think anyone outside of the organization knows the details of the switch to a new site developer. It is entirely plausible that if they did NOT make the switch, the Phase II release would have been delayed even more. Can you say why you know this is not true?

I agree there have been some blunders in the early stages of the presentation of the project to the public but I think they have learned some lessons and are acting appropriately. It is their job to complete the job and not worry about the stock price or all the idle speculation from posters at this point.

BTW, Please check your posts for errors before submitting them. It would help to elevate the intellectual atmosphere of these discussions.
Thank you. (you spelled switching wrong)

- development mistakes
- Marketing mistakes
- PR mistakes

Three categories but no substance.

As far as I know you have not taken on an endeavor like this so why would your judgement of development mean anything to me as an investor. Oh wait you have this precious hindsight.
As to the marketing of PNLK it has not started yet. Or have you already jumped the gun again, and decided to judge the egg before it hatches.
And as far as the PR mistakes. Once again just your opinion. Just like me. You want substance and facts, try it yourself.
You trash the average person here as a cheerleader with posts with nothing but opinions and fluff. You sir arrive with just the opposite. Garbage with no substance. JMO

BTW Rudy, a loss of credibility? Opinions are like A******* every one has one. I believe you however may be gifted.

Sai:

I'm going to try to keep the conversation focused on the issues and not on personalities or motives.

Of the responses by others to your response to me, Todd Jensen made a very good point when he said that "...I don't think anyone outside of the organization knows the details of the switch to a new site developer. It is entirely plausible that if they did NOT make the switch, the Phase II release would have been delayed even more. Can you say why you know this is not true?..."

Without knowing the particulars, people can put whatever "spin" they want on this change of web site developers.

Here is another "spin" for your perusal.

With the power of hind sight, PNL would have hired Rare Medium from the get go. PNL may have made this realization a while ago, but may have been contractually bound to continue their development with Proxicom.

Or PNL may have not fully understood what was required for their site until they were well into it, and thus didn't realize that Rare Medium was better suited for their project.

Or...

Regarding my previous suggestion about key personal switching employers. I was aware that Proxicom had three teams working on PNL's site at one point. So your statements I have no problem with other than to add that teams have leaders...and I offered my suggestion of leadership movement as sheer conjecture.

Because that's all we have is conjecture.

Again, I agree with you that this switch of developers adversely effected the short term price because some felt the change at this time would cause further delays. These delays were already construed to have happened because at the beginning of July there was discussion as to whether P2 would be ready by the beginning of August.

But what one person may call a "mistake" another person may call a learning experience and as Todd pointed out that without the change NOW the site may have been further delayed, or worse- the site may not as capable as it could be for P2 or for future enhancement.

Businesses make mistakes or changes like people. 50% of marriages end in divorce. Companies have to make changes even if those changes adversely effect short term prospects, because those changes will lead to longer term growth. PNL's switch thus could be construed as an astute maneuver based on making their concept a reality because they found a better partner, rather than a change that undermines their credibility as you suggest.

Now as a trader with short term interests, you really missed your opportunity to make the big bucks if you missed the pre-launch run-up. If your intentions with your brash style and self-assured comments
is to make the stock dip further so you can buy in cheaper and possibly ride a higher bounce with the news of P2's implementation, you're going to continue to provoke strong sentiments against you.

If you are sincerely interested in engaging in a dialogue, you'll qualify your statements as your opinions and weigh the merits of points of view that differ from your own. You should also make a concerted effort to try to get definitive answers from PNL or Zagoren as to what are some of the reasons for the developer change or any other issues you'd like to address

Now as for my comments regarding your discussing other issues on threads not concerning those issues, to me that is a matter of unstated SI etiquette. As I suggested there plenty of forums where you can banter about the merits of your choices like the "Cafe Society by Prosperous Soul", "the Doghouse", or "Society Anonyme". Be forewarned though that many of the people on these threads our shady characters. Actually from reading your posts on some of the other threads on which you participate, I'd have to suggest that you'd fit right in especially since your quite a quintessential "pumper" for the companies you own.

Anyway enough said for now.
