AMAT: SG COWEN SECUR. decreased estimate for fiscal year
ending 10/99 from $0.74 to $0.65 on 08/12/98
AMAT: SG COWEN SECUR. increased estimate for fiscal year
ending 10/98 from $1.08 to $1.11 on 08/12/98
AMAT: SG COWEN SECUR. increased estimate for quarter ending
10/99 from $0.27 to $0.28 on 08/12/98
AMAT: SOUNDVIEW FINL has reiterated estimate for fiscal year
ending 10/98 of $1.07 on 07/31/98
AMAT: SOUNDVIEW FINL has reiterated estimate for quarter
ending 07/98 of $0.15 on 07/31/98

I find the precision of the SG Cowen estimate revision for
the quarter ending 10/99 remarkable. NO visibility, yet Cowen
changes their estimate from 27 to 28 cents on 8/12/98.

The SP500 and Nasdaq futures don't look good right now:

>>Lets make some $$$!!!!

Maybe not today...Russia down 10%, Europe down 1.5+% across the board, futures down 750, everyone knows that overnight intervention is not going to save the Yen, etc... Too early for exuberance.
