Mr. A:

Your exact calc of 645 miles and my approximation of 652 miles are close enough for civilian work, so we can now go on to more interesting things, like the next G* launch, and speculation on the probability that the hold on Boeing's Xenit sea launch will dribble over onto Loral's Xenit land based launch.

By the way, the need for two Sky Stations to cover a large metro area may be based more on antenna-beam/pop-capacity considerations than on line of sight. Any Sky Station comm engineers out there who want to enlighten the technically challanged masses?
