marc, do you know if this is a new, surprise reduction, or is it part of the previously pledged reductions?

Re: "Saudi Aramco has informed its crude oil customers in Europe and the United States of an across-the-board reduction in contract sales amounting to about 18 percent for September, trading sources said on Thursday. "

regards,

diana
EDIT-- Looks like crude is Up; That may answer the question.

Thanks for the note. This is a perfect set up for a sector rotation. As the majority of the market falls into disfavor because of the other bad news, the oil sector gets a bust as the boys in the middle east do something about the glut.
