Gary, >>>I prefer Intel's accurate estimate rather than Microsoft's guaranteed to be beaten number. <<<

Improving shareholder's valuation and product integrity do not necessarily correlate 100% - 100% of the time.

Albert Yu, head of Intel's Microprocessor Division was just interviewed on CNBC. He projected a lot of competence and confidence. He satisfied my own concerns relating to Merced delay. He explained that it was delayed because they are pushing the envelop in technical design and are sometimes carried with optimism.

The delay does not seem unusal in R&D on this magnitude and he projects confidence and honesty that problems are under control and they are moving ahead as quickly as possible. There are no guarantees in R&D - it gets done when it gets done (unless it is something trivial). There have been posters here on this thread suggesting serious problems and dark motives concerning Merced delays. I don't think so.
