What's your point, dude? If you are arguing that this is not the time to play DELL options, I will agree with you since I see DELL being traded sideways for the next 8 weeks.

However, if you want to argue that CPQ is a better investment than DELL at current level, I will tend to disagree.

You said that the best years to profit from long positions in DELL is behind us, I do agree. However, I will be content seeing this baby doubling from its current level by the end of 1999. Can it happen? I think so. Coupled with option trading when the baby begins a move, you can more than triple your current portfolio during that period of time.

Bottom line is that you have a variety of ways to play DELL (buying stock, buying calls, selling covered calls, selling naked puts, etc). I intentionally exclude shorting and put buying from the list since I don't believe that you can make nice profits using these strategies against DELL.
