Last I heard, BP/Amoco will use the Amoco name in most of the US with the exception of some midwestern states. The reason for the midwest exception escapes my memory. The transition will be interesting to watch especially in my area as the BP stations have the better locations, bigger convenience stores and seemingly newer exteriors. If they push the makeover quickly, seems like they would be trashing a lot of fairly new setups for no good reason. But then BPs usual makeover rate seemed very quick to me. Perhaps it is part of their success. You don't suppose the margin on a big gulp is any better than on a gallon of gas, do you? At least the sheiks of coke/pepsi aren't pumping in excess of demand.

I'd expect anything out of an IR department to be so carefully phrased as to be meaningless, so I won't bother. But feel free to prove me wrong.
