George, Pat, Roger, and all,

It looks like I'm going to be all alone on this one, but I was actually encouraged by the insider purchases. The number of shares purchased wasn't so important to me as the fact that none of the top management SOLD anything. If something was really wrong at Ancor, I would have expected some selling. If most of us longs take a good look at our portfolio, I think we can understand why the officers didn't take a bigger chunk of shares. They are underwater too. Cal's initial investment of $150,000 (20,000 at $7.50) is now worth $26,250 (20,000 at $1.3125). That's a pretty significant hit, even if you pull down a pretty substantial salary. Cal, Ken, and Steve are all down on their other purchases too. They must see some silver lining, or they wouldn't continue to buy. At any rate, that's just my opinion. As usual, I don't have anything concrete.

On second thought, there was an article in the last Information Week magazine that was VERY pro Fibre Channel and storage. I think someone on the Yahoo thread posted a link to it. It talked about Fibre Channel switches and hubs, and how fast the growth curve was in storage. Good reading for us techno-types.

P.S. Yes, I'm marooned in my office today, fixing a Novell NetWare server. It isn't going real well, either. <g>
