Pete,

Do you think that Bob is suffering from needing short-term gratification? <g> Maybe Acampora should stop making intermediate term predictions. Bob obviously went short the market on Acampora's advice expecting a quick drop and now he's blaming Acampora for his bad trade. <g> Bob has to learn to take responsibility. <g>

Granted Acampora flip-flopped his position and I do not believe market timing is possible, but what if he's right? Did Bob expect the market to tank the day after Acampora called for a 15%-20% correction? What if Acampora decides that the 15%-20% correction is a 1999/2000 story? <g> What if the market rallies 20% 13 months after his initial recommendation and Acampora continues to say that we should be selling into this short-term strength? <g> What if Acampora dismisses his critics as seeking short-term gratification? <g> What if Acampora doesn't take any questions from the media on this hypothetically blown call and insists on only talking about how he was right about his initial DOW 7000 forecast? <g>

So Pete, why is it not "totally buffoonish" for Bob to label Acampora Mr. Flip-Flop, King of the Bears less than a week after his forecast? For Pete's sake, Acampora isn't even a bear, he's calling for a correction between 15% and 20%. Using Bob's definition this sounds like an intermediate term correction to me...Maybe he should be King of the Correction Crowd? <g>

Best Regards.
