IDG News Service, Boston BureauÿÿÿÿÿDigitcom Corp. last week announced that it has agreed to buy all of the stock of PT Primedia ArmoEkadata, an Indonesian Internet service provider.ÿ

With the agreement, Digitcom will be able to deliver IP (Internet Protocol) long-distance services between North America and areas in Indonesia, through its joint venture with Indosat, an Indonesian ISP.ÿ

The Santa Monica, California, company expects the transfer of stock and licenses to its Indonesian unit to be completed within 60 days. It declined to disclose further details of the stock acquisition.ÿÿ

This ISP license is the last to be issued by the Indonesian government, the company said. Indonesia had 15 licenses in operation as of October 1997, according to a report from the U.S. Department of Commerce.ÿÿ

Digitcom is a telecommunications and data network company that works with regional and national telephone companies worldwide to create international long-distance networks.ÿ
