Thanks! It'll be tough for China to hold Wuein any longer, though.

MMV:
Can't you just visualize Dear Abby staring into the cameras and lights and uttering this verbal dung,..... without even smirking?

A few observations:
- the former "minimal" impact of the Asian crisis on the U.S. has escalated to "moderate", (a typo no doubt)....and oh yes, let's just sneak Russia into that sentence, since it is such a tiny and insignificant addition.
- Delighted and relieved that ABJ's computer model "continue's to call for global growth". "GLOBAL GROWTH" !. Earth to Abby,.... hello out there in space,....please check in upon arrival back in our solar system. Also please call anybody living in Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, etc, etc,., and let them know about this.
- Asian "disruptions" (love her use of the language) hurt U.S. GDP by only 0.5%. Of course, it is one of those few economic "disruptions" that do not have any "multipliers" of any kind, so don't worry, be happy (at least until after IPO day).
- Banks have indicated to Abby that they are "fully reserved" for losses in Asia,.....(" based on bank managements that chose to comment"). Now with respect to the 98% that chose not to comment,.............. (what bank was it that took a $500.0 million dollar kiss on a single Korean swap?). Abby, how do we spell derivatives, and did you query with respect to bank exposure to same?
- Lucky for all of us that all those stocks are now "under-valued",....BASED ON,....... (deafening silence).
- The fact that U.S. profits slowed in H1 is no cause for Wall St. to "take a discouraging view". Why not? Reason:..."It was no surprise" Hello again up there in space A.J., Do I recall the analysts' estimates exceeding 12% just before Q1 commenced? How far down were they hauled?
And let's not even bring up the embarrassing comparison vis-a-vis Q2.
- "Worse hit by the Asian crisis, she argued, are companies producing commodities, including energy, metals, and (AHEM) Dram." A little fog on your space ship's canopy Ab old girl? A few short months ago, you recommended MU (once only). Probably not noted on your script at the time, but they do produce Drams. No doubt we missed the "revision" to that recommendation.
- Dear lady, someone in your organization owes you an apology. The old saw about a Q4 rebound, has unfortunately been beaten to death during your distant flight and just doesn't quite cut it anymore without a smattering of supporting evidence. The writers need to be chastised for this oversight.
- "We will review the assumptions in the coming weeks",....... (right after the G.S. IPO).

I'd like volunteers to help secure Abby's craft after touchdown at the Cape

Best, Earlie

<<Cohen, one of Wall Street's most respected forecasters, said she is not changing her stock market targets nor her earnings projections.

She said stocks are in the bottom of a trading range>>

Do I hear "stocks have reached the permanently high plateau" ?
