It may be semantics BUT I think the safety issue is EXTREMELY important. We are testing on 15.000 CHILDREN . How many new drugs have you heard of being tested on such a large population of kids??? There you go. NONE that weren't ALREADY believed to be safe. Do you believe that the FDA would approve a study involve fifteen thousand children if they doubted that the drug was safe? (Well, I guess the government did inject pregnant women with radioactive iron in the 50's, and they did expose soldiers to nuclear blasts to see what happened, and they did intentionally fail to treat blacks for syphilis just to see what the long-term effects would be. Maybe that's not a valid question...) Phase I/II was for safety. Phase III was for effectiveness. This is an additional study to determine the benefit of vaccinating children on the population as a whole. If anything this seems to be an attempt to collect info that can be used in marketing the product. Off topic, this stock needs to stop declining. My profit's down to about 15% and I'm not going to let it fall much farther.
