Earlie, I hope the journalist follows through. But the only favorite I can remember is Lois Lane as played by Teri Hatcher. O.K., I would settle for Margo Kidder if she isn't in the dumpsters any more. -g-

Earlie, excellent points about todays mkt. I would add to the list this bubble seems to have an unofficial blessing from the government because it helps "balance the budget" and Bob Rubin's Wall St friends are making a lot of $. In the 20's there were some influential congressmen and senators who were concerned about the Fed's easy money policies. I am not aware of any politician publicly expressing concern over todays bubble. We also have a sophisticated futures mkt which lends itself to mkt manipulation. Relatively small sums in the futures mkt can "save the day" during a severe decline which maintains confidence and encourages even more money to come into the mkt. In the short run this may seem clever but it only sets us up for bigger problems down the road. Government intervention did not work in SEa and Japan and does not work ( for long)in the currency mkts. Mike
