I know how to get the loyalty of the fr. cdn. Let him know one fact. Eventually a majority gov't will be elected that has a predominant English speaking power base and is not afraid to roll back all the inequities of the past as in Quebec porkbarrelling, illegal transfer payments, domination of fr. born civil servants in the federal gov't, forced bilingualism in products and gov't where unecessary and the federal release of necessity of obediance to laws formed from the notwithstanding or veto parts of the constitution including bill 101. And they will do it with that mandate in less than one year. And the upshot of it is that the Quebecer will be forced to admit there is no harm to the province at all.! So he can see either he agrees on the eventuality of the federal changes or it will be done unilaterally. And that is all the English would demand and none of it impacts Quebec at all! The other part of the reality check is that Quebec never unilaterally annexed the northern territories and thus do not unilaterally get to demand the property rights to this if they decide to secede. It is Crown land by the Statute of Westminster. And Canada by the constitution, such as it is. So it is not Quebec as they secede. Nothing can be unilateral. So he sees the reality does not constitute domination of his culture. Because it never has been about English forcing anything on Quebec. So he either agrees with what is fair for the majority and participates to have a voice or suffers the majority to decide for themselves.
