Thanks for that article, it's a gem in that it is a distillation of the facts surrounding what our plight is.

However, some "facts" are new to me:

1) Intel "dropped" MRVC?
2) Only 1 analyst follows the stock, down from 4?

Did I miss something in all the PINK bashing posts, or are these true?

Gee, what would an gig/optical/DWDM networking co. want w/a VPN tech. co., whose glory year was 1994 & since has been passed around like a stale quart of Colt 45 at a wino convention...? If Raytheon/Whitiker, et al... couldn't make the tranistion into world class networking cos. how can little 'ol MRV be so bold as to purchase Xyplex at a fire sale $$$, ;immediately write off the acquistion & then expect to be acknowleded as a co. w/foresight & a bright future? Don't MRV shareholder know that big bad CSCO will pummel them, that the world is flat & of a singular dimension/brand, vanilla is the only true flavor, legacy routers rule, we speaking/politically correct fund managers go to cookie cutter index school, & who the hell gives a turd if the Russell 2000 index is at its lowest relative valuation since 1980, the future is 1984 & big brother is coming via the corporation to tell/watch/suggest that if you think for yourself you're a nobody, get on the we think bandwagon w/all the pervasive, perversive, pursuasions, and think big, be big, follow, follow, follow...doesn't anybody remember that historically small stocks outperform large caps? Nah, its a the new economy & unless you own an internet portal or a blue blood pedigree you don't deserve a second sniff. Like 'the Man' said, rave on, rave on, rave on....

According to Infonetics Research Inc., San Jose, the VPN market was an estimated $205 million in 1997-including VPN products, systems integration and other services-and is expected to grow more than 100 percent per year, through 2001, to $11.9 billion.

Does the article in Smart Money end up in the magazine sometime?
I got mine on Saturday in the mail. I looked for the article, not there. So I went back to the link. It says daily screen archive, so it was only on their site for that day.

Great article, not much reach, that's disappointing. I thought about buying on Friday at 18.25, good support point, maybe today. Instead I bought some Lucent, about 18% off highs set 6 weeks ago.
