GOOD GUY - BAD GUY !!! I'm not sure which I am but here goes. I (RoadRider) acquired two development systems from WDS last week for the purpose of evaluation. As I stated here before, RoadRider is looking for a supplier for Mobile Data Terminals (MDT) in the General Fleet Management area (as opposed to the ready-mix/con-ag business, which is the business of WDS). Early indications are that we have found a possible vendor in WDS. While I would not tout the level of WDS professionalism involved in delivering the systems to our (RoadRider) marketing team after a two month wait, I'll compliment the technology itself -- THE DAMN THINGS WORK, AND SEEM TO WORK WELL! We tested for a full day out in the San Diego area then demo'd the technology to one of our 'partners'. We will probably order a small number of protoype systems (4/6) to put into service over-the-road ASAP for testing purposes with quantity orders targeted in Q1, 1999. I agree with previous postings here -- patience will pay off for WDS investors -- if WDS pays attention to its core business.
