I think it is impossible to sell $399 computer at
a profit. Computer is not TV or microwave, there
is many hidden cost associated with it.

The chances that customer would come back for help
with TV/microwave is extremely small but it has to
be expected in computer(in particular for those who
bought a $399 one), there is cost associated with this
kind of support.

What you say is logical although Micro Center wouldn't sell this product unless it fit into their portfolio somewhere so I suspect it has an acceptable margin.
