All, I only mentioned Oakt and Esst because they are in the same market as Creaf, so what effects one effects the other.

Oakt has a cash value that exceeds their BV so PER is meaningless. Oakt's future is in DVD (similar to Creaf's direction)

ESST is Creaf's biggest audio competitor and they are hurting. ESST is in such bad shape that they are dumping audio controllers, look at their last 10Q to see how slim their gross margins are. And of course ESST is also heading toward DVD and consumer products.

As for USB being bottom-end, this does not make any sense. USB will be more expensive than traditional wired speakers and will offer better performance and features, otherwise it will be a complete zero.

USB speakers will sound better because
1) They are not using PC power supplies (these noisy supplies typically degrade the performance of the DAC by over 10dB)

2) They ae not integrated with lots of noisy digital chips creating distortion on the Audio system.

3) Most USB speakers are adding a DSP to do frequency correction of the speakers and add lots of features like 3D

4) Most computers, especially sub $1000's, have real cheap audio integrated onto the mother board. USB will be their up-grade path.

Anyway, I agree that USB could go either way
