...hopeful nonetheless that with Lithium, the medication Mex needed even more acutely than he apparently needed Viagra to make his "Good Soldier Schweik," as he cutely called it, stand at attention, he would become his best self again. Ever since Mex had substituted alcohol for his prescribed Lithium, after posting late one night a very puzzling notice in the town square at Saint Innocent to the effect that he was taking this step due to his "cultural heritage"-- yes, ever since making that substitution of alcohol for the Lithium he so sorely needed, Mex had manifested a number of disconcerting symptoms, including one previously unknown in the annals of medicine, a compulsion to hit one key in the first row of the keyboard over and over and over again, quite inappropriately. Yet another unfortunate symptom of Lithium deprivation was his tendency frequently to roll on the floor, laughing so boisterously that on more than one occasion he came near to seriously injuring if not actually amputating his exposed buttocks!
