This is my last post and then I am done and gotta get to work ...

I'll tell you this though. I don't know whether MRV will pull out of this funk or not, but in general, when NO ONE wants anything that's the time to buy. Right now, the internet stocks are hot EVERYBODY wants them.

I know that I am not as old as most people here, so I'll use a quick analogy of a childhood pastime. Baseball cards.

Their values are obviously tied to the performance of the player, but around 1990, baseball cards hit their peak in value.

At this point, you had adults in their 40's speculating on "error cards" (an error card is where there is a missprint that is corrected by the company.) There was NO rhyme or reason to it, so no name, with an interesting missprint was Selling for $100.

The same is true of internet stocks today. They expect most of these companies to hit 62 + homers two or three years from now. How many Mark McGwire's are there in the farm system?

they are already saying yahoo is mark McGwire. YES, Yahoo kicks ass in Search Engines they have THE BRAND NAME, but I'll bet you that Netscape is going to dominate this market. In their beta version 4.5, they let you type in a word into the browser and they'll take you to an Excite search. People are LAZY. netscape is allowing them to bypass the step of going to an SE. What's more, not only did Netscape get 70 million for the traffic they send Excite, but they also licensed their technology, sos in a couple years, rather than sending you to Excite, surfers (now knowing they type words directly into their browser are going to be using netscape SE just out of laziness.) Man, will Lycos investors realize the error of their ways then.

MY POINT in all this? By the companies where there is room for error. There is NO ROOM in the SE companies. NONE. In MRV, there is cash and an attractive takeover target. Little room down, lot of room up.

pINK, short Lycos.

As for the Russell 2000, what an EXCELLENT contrarian play to purchase the index. My friends, who know NOTHING about stock, are saying, Just by the Big companies, you can;t go wrong. I think it was Peter Lynch who said that he always knew it was time to sell when the cab driver gave him a hot tip.

I'm done.
