Re:NYSE short interest

These sites list only the companies with the largest short interests:

bigcharts.com

briefing.com

I haven't found a more comprehensive listing.

<<Is there a source on the web for NYSE short interest?>>

A free location to find short interest on any stock is the Yahoo! company profiles. About a month(?) ago, they started listing number of shares short and the short ratio (their definition is number of days to cover, figured by taking the shares short divided by average daily volume).

For instance, this link will take you to the profile for Silicon Graphics (SGI). You'll find the short shares down the right hand side, towards the bottom.

biz.yahoo.com

The data is 5 weeks old, but this is as close as one is likely to get for free.
