This is another trial balloon. They're hoping to see the political impact of this strategy. The legal impact is still murky since the more important issues are witness tampering and obstruction of justice. They're narrowly defining sex from Bill's deposition to include cunnilingus but not fellatio.

Bill/Hillary are so incompetent and so rudderless. They managed their Health Care task force through a serices of trial balloons.

Bill:

You know, if people let him get away with obfuscating the meaning of the word "sex", we really have reached a new moral low. That will be his sole legacy.

We should have seen this coming. Smoking pot but not inhaling, taxes are called "contributions" and "fees," "the rich" are suddenly redefined as those making $30,000 a year, and now this absurdly narrow concept of what constitutes "sexual relations."

The guy simply twists the language into new dimensions for his own purposes. How better to enable saying one thing and doing another?

"For the purposes of this deposition, a person engages in 'sexual relations' when the person knowingly engages in or causes --

(I) contact with the genitalia, anus, groin, breast, inner thigh, or buttocks of any person with an intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person;

(II) contact between any part of the person's body or an object and the genitals or anus of another person; or

(III) contact between the genitals or anus of the person and any part of another person's body. 'Contact' means intentional touching, either directly or through clothing."

Clinton's lawyer, Robert S. Bennett, objected, arguing the definition was too broad and could include such benign activities as handshaking. Judge Wright readily agreed and limited the definition to Part I, excluding the other two.

>>>They probably believe that excluding (III) allowed him to deny
>>>that he had sex since he was the one being touched.

His "legacy" has already begun. Bubba's legacy is diminished respect for the office of the Presidency, the rule of law and the value of the truth. The man is a disgrace and no further proof of that is necessary than to see that he would even CONSIDER hanging his hat on the fact that his conduct might not fit within the narrow definition of sex as used in the Jones deposition. Sounds like the no controlling legal authority argument, only worse. JLA
