Deef, Yes, I concur about the US rally, if it is based on HK. I took a look at the ASEAN mkts last night before heading off to the sack. Japan seemed to like HK for a short while, but as lunch digested, they decided to tank again.

Suprisingly, my shorts aren't getting hit too bad, but I can't act smug around the 'ole ranch since my Honey is long and strong TLAB and they just got wacked with a 2x4. She also has a bit of BA so her Aug brokerage statement is not going to be pretty.

Hilliary has a bunch of pride - the kind the old Greeks used to warn about. She deserves everything she gets on this biz. Poor Chelsey is a different matter though.

Deef, Did I wake up on a different planet this AM??? Some sort of
surreal parallel universe?? The White House spin doctors are
putting out trial balloons to help the President determine how
to tell "the truth". And citizens are okay with this???

The trial balloons must have stayed aloft because we will get a rigged version of the spin this Sunday night. Just heard Ha Noi Jane and Red Ted are hosting a "town meeting" featuring the Prez addressing his problems on CNN.

Regards, Ice

>> Dupont's problems are international and domestic in nature and they probably aren't alone. <<

Acutally DD's stock was just overvalued. While missing street estimates, they are not exactly losing money. I do question whether or not this CEO of theirs knows what he is doing. They need better internal (or at least more honest) forecasting.

As for the white house "stuff", how do you know Hillary hasn't already moved out? Lately, I've only seen pictures of Bubba and Buddy outside the white house <g>

<<If Hilliary had any
pride she'd move out of the
White House. Speaks volumes about her IMO.>>

She read somewhere pride is a mortal sin? -g-

Very good perception on your part. It does appear that "citizens," as defined by the media, are OK with that. However, based on the recent stock market action, I don't think that "investors" are OK with it.

Best wishes,

I2

Dr. Dee. as disgusting as it sounds, that seems to be what the American public wants. To some degree, a good majority of the people are afraid of dealing with the issue - notably the possibility of stock market crashing. If it does crash - they will blame it all on Clinton. Either way you look at it, the public as a group do not want to face the consequences of their own actions, much less of their leader.
In the last few months since the zipper gate scandal broke out, I and my wife hardly talked about that issue. But, in the last few days we talked about it in some detail. She thinks that Starr is the evil person here, even though she does not approve of what Clinton has done. First she said Clinton would not have done it and that it is all just media hype. I explained to her about the events that led to Starr's investigation. Now she does not think that Starr is an evil person but such delicate private matters should not be dragged in to the public. I quoted to her a Telugu poet who said, "Individuals' private lives are their own. If they become public, we will say and do whatever we want. Especially if they are public figures."
Clearly, the Clinton propaganda machine is successful in making a good number of the citizens believe that it is OK to lie about private matters. At least to me, I don't want to know anybody's private life details. But, if I have to trust a person with big responsibility that will directly or indirectly affect me, yes, his private life behavior is as important to me as his public stance.
