DealMaker,

Thanks for the reply. I agree that it would be beneficial for BANY to attend trade shows to showcase their products to the government. There are many trade shows that appear near my installation. There are a lot of shows and a lot of government installations and facilities, but strategic shows near strategic installations may be productive. As far as give-aways to the decision-makers and purchasing agents, that is a no-no and prohibited by law.

Government can buy directly from distributors and not just manufacturers. If a commercial product is unavailable from GSA schedules it can be purchased from distributors and catalogs providing the price is competitive. However, if a product is listed on the GSA schedule, the government must buy it off the schedule. It is interesting to note that on the schedules (and Dell's BPA's), BANY's hardcases are only available for Dell notebooks. The government buys many different brands of notebooks. If they want hardcases for these other brands they will have to turn somewhere other than the GSA schedules.

According to Eric's post 2394 in which he talked to Scott Sitra, "BANY has the capacity to expand production and employees easily. ... These are the types of problems BANY is prepared to deal with and hopes to confront soon."
