the solution to the problem in Asia is for the wealthy countries (Japan and maybe China) to spend a little of their accumulated foreign exchanges and buy from their neighbors to prop up their economies. I am back to my old theme, Japan should engage in an advertising campaign:
"Be a patriot, spend a little!!!!". If China think they should fight deflation, the same is true there, but I am afraid that their situation is a little different and that personal savings there are not as robust as in Japan.
