Gary - Re: " I remembered someone forecast AMD is going to make 4.00/share in 1998 back in 97 ?"

This was none other than Mark Edelstone. He made this call AFTER he took over at Morgan Stanley and AFTER AMD made their first announcement regarding yield problems in August/September of last year. He was even MORE BULLISH in his prior post at Prudential Sec.

I listened to an analyst conference call that he gave and he simply re-iterated all the positive B.S. that AMD had given him in a "Private " phone call.

Drew Peck (Cowen) and Erika Klauer (then at Salomon Bros.) had similar high estimates for AMD. Neither of these two are maintaining a high profile these days.
