I would venture to say that Apple is going back down the same
road that it traveled many years ago. Back then they had a chance
to become major players in the PC market but at this point they will
be nothing more than a minor player. They have no regard for the
hundreds of thousands of OEM and VAR support people.

You know very well that schools have moved away from Apple systems in droves....they simply are not the factor they once were in the elementary school systems and are rapidly from the secondary and junior college scene as well.

You guys make it sound like every Imac purchaser is going to buy an external drive...that isn't going to happen. Most likely they will use the machine as an internet appliance or with CDs....if Apple did not believe that they would have offered it with a floppy!
